Disney Interactive Studios

 

In 2006, I had the opportunity to spend 6 months as a game designer in the Think Tank intern program at Disney Interactive Studios.  This program basically combined college and graduate students of varying backgrounds with the goal of brainstorming and developing videogame concepts.

As as designer in the Think Tank, my role included the following:

  • pitching and brainstorming ideas
  • writing and maintaining game design documents
  • designing game mechanics, level layouts, control schemes, etc.
  • storyboarding
  • creating animatics and mock trailers
  • preparing materials for presentations and market tests
  • sound design
  • game testing, as well as playtest monitoring
  • gameplay prototyping

Side note: If you ever play That's So Raven: Psychic on the Scene (Nintendo DS), look for me as an NPC in level 4...
