Released on August 18th, 2010, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is the first-ever two-player adventure starring Lara Croft. It is also the first download-only game from Crystal Dynamics, and a radical departure from the series' normal template.
Check out what many of the reviews have said about the game:
"I feel comfortable saying that Guardian of Light may be the most fun I've had with Miss Croft in 14 years; it's that good. Guardian of Light covers a lot of bases -- solid action, clever puzzles, nail-biting platforming, and remarkable cooperative play; it's not to be missed."
Guardian of Light was made by a very small team. As 1 of only 3 designers on the team, this enabled me to have my hands in nearly everything design-related. On the systems side, this included the following:
player abilities and movement
controls
weapons
upgrades
enemies
health and ammo systems
rewards and achievements
etc
My primary responsibility on the project, however, was level design. I held total ownership over 4 of the game's levels through every stage of production, from concept to ship:
Temple Grounds (level 02)
Forgotten Gate (level 05)
Flooded Passage (level 07)
Stronghold Passage (level 12)
Within each level, I performed a very large variety of design tasks:
overall level layout, player pathing, flow control
